Table of contents

Phantom Blade Zero is out on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5. S-GAME published four PC hardware tiers, from a modest 1080p target up to a path-traced 4K preset. This page summarises those requirements, as reported by G2A, and explains how to choose the right settings for your machine.

Requirements common to all tiers

According to G2A, every tier lists:

  • OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM.
  • DirectX: version 12.
  • Storage: an SSD.

An SSD is listed even at the minimum tier, so installing to a hard drive is not supported.

Minimum

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600.
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (8 GB).
  • Target: 1080p at 30 fps, with upscaling.

This is a fairly low bar for a 2026 release. Expect to rely on an upscaler and lower settings to keep a steady 30 fps.

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X.
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT.
  • Target: 1440p at 60 fps.

For an action game built around precise parry timing, 60 fps is worth aiming for. The th.gl difficulty data counts parry windows in frames, and smoother frame rates make those windows easier to read.

Ray tracing

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060.
  • Target: 1080p at 60 fps with ray tracing.

Path tracing

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080.
  • Target: 2160p (4K) at 60 fps with path tracing.

Path tracing is the most demanding mode and is aimed at the newest high-end cards.

DRM

G2A notes that the Steam version uses Denuvo anti-tamper.

Other platforms

G2A reports that there is no Xbox or Nintendo Switch version, and that a PS5 physical edition is planned for 2027. Wikipedia covers the game's release history and reception if you want the wider background.

Choosing settings: practical tips

  • Prioritise frame rate. Combat depends on reading coloured flashes: blue to parry, red to dodge. A stable frame rate matters more than shadows or reflections. See our beginner tips.
  • Use upscaling. Since even the minimum target assumes upscaling, turning it on is expected rather than a compromise.
  • Treat ray tracing as optional. Unless your card is in the ray tracing or path tracing tier, it is better to keep 60 fps.
  • Install on your fastest SSD.
  • Close background apps if you are at 16 GB RAM.

Is my PC good enough?

If your graphics card is at or above a GTX 1660 and your CPU is at least a Ryzen 5 3600 or i7-8700K, you meet the minimum. For a comfortable 60 fps at 1440p, aim for the recommended tier.

Storage size in GB was not stated in the source we checked, so we have left it out rather than guess. Check the store page before installing.
