Table of contents
Phantom Blade Zero is generous in many ways, but some items, quests and fights can be locked out by story progress. This page gathers every missable we could confirm in public guides. If something is not listed here, it may still be missable; we only include items with a source. The good news is that a New Cycle resets quests and maps, so nothing is lost forever. See the New Game Plus guide.
Missable weapons in the Village of Lu
Two weapons in the Village of Lu have a short window. Our older missable weapons page covers them in detail:
- Fiend Saws: collect all five of Mu Xiaokui's ribbons to unlock her extra boss phase, then defeat the Jade Dancer and Iron Fiend guardians. See the Mu Xiaokui guide.
- Wild Oriole Sword: after that encounter, pick it up from the dock before you leave the Village of Lu.
Feather Bow (Weeping Creek Valley)
TechWiser explains that the Feather Bow Phantom Edge comes from a small side task. Find the Broken String Bow in a chest near the Ruthless Archer Camp and hand it to the archer on the rooftop at the Outpost. games.gg's guide index describes the Feather Bow as a missable Phantom Edge, so finish this before you leave the first region. Every other edge is listed in our Phantom Edges database.
Seal of Dugu (Crimson Forest)
GameRant explains that the Seal of Dugu accessory depends on a dialogue choice at the rope bridge in the Crimson Forest. You must accuse Ju, not Lanlan, to get it. The accessory adds 8% Sha-Chi depletion to Sha-Chi Combos according to AllThings.How. Browse other accessories in the accessories database.
Lóng Pillar deadlines
games.gg lists two hard cut-offs for the Bloodline Awakening quest:
- Finish the first four pillars before opening the Green Serpent House door in Pangzhen.
- Finish the fifth, in the Mirage Estate, before The Last Chance bell.
Missing them blocks the Phantom and Blade trophy and the best ending. Routes are in Lóng Pillar locations.
Purple quests before the Mirage Estate
games.gg says the ten purple-icon quests must be finished before you enter the Mirage Estate. Combat losses and dialogue choices do not fail them, but story progress can make unfinished ones unavailable. The list is in the true ending guide.
Quick Hand Zhang's relics
All sixteen relics, and their deliveries, must be done before The Last Chance bell. games.gg stresses that you must actually hand the treasures over, not just carry them. See Quick Hand Zhang's requests.
Optional bosses that are easy to overlook
PCGamesN calls out several fights that are easy to miss:
- Hua, Deadly Betrothed, at the bottom of the first Sha-Chi tower.
- You Loong, the Frenzied Blackwater Crewleader, on a Meigu Lake island.
- Heartpiercer, an Elite Shadow Warden.
- Red, on a rooftop in the Mandate Encampment.
Many bosses carry trophies; see the trophy guide and the boss list.
Endings
Which ending you get depends on Secrets at the Heart of the Lake and the five pillars. See all endings.
How to play safe
- Do side quests as soon as they appear.
- Before any door that the game warns about, open the quest log.
- Pick up every item on docks and in chests before leaving a region.
- Keep a manual note of what you skipped.
- Use our collectibles checklist.
We could not find a complete, sourced list of every missable item, so treat this as the confirmed core rather than an exhaustive list.
