Memory Flowers are glowing blue collectibles found throughout Phantom Blade Zero. They are not just lore. They are the game's main way to permanently increase Soul's maximum health, which makes them one of the most important things to collect, especially on harder difficulties. This guide explains how they work, how many exist and how they connect to bosses and trophies.

How Memory Flowers raise your health

G2A describes the core rule: completing a set of memories raises your health. GameSpot and games.gg add the detail that matters. Each flower belongs to a named memory. Some memories are a single whole flower, and picking it up grants its bonus immediately. Others are split into several petals, and you only receive the health bonus once you have collected every petal of that named set. There is no partial reward for a half-finished set.

According to those guides, typical bonuses are 5%, 7% or 10% of maximum health, depending on the flower. Over a full playthrough those add up to a substantial difference in how many hits you can survive.

Reading the collection card

games.gg recommends checking the collection card for each memory. It shows a progress counter and the required number of pieces. The Roman numerals shown on memories refer to parts of the story, not to the order in which you must pick them up. You can collect pieces in any order.

How many are there?

The AllThings. How interactive map tracks 138 Memory Flower markers across all regions. That figure counts individual pickups on the map, so it is larger than the number of named memories. Our collectibles checklist lets you tick them off per region, and the interactive map shows the region totals.

Bosses and paths linked to flowers

Memory Flowers are tied to some optional content:

  • Dusk, the Puppeteer is a hidden boss in the Village of Lu. TechWiser says he appears after you collect all the Firefly Memory Flowers in the village and approach a barrier near the Temple of Butterflies. PCGamesN mentions six memory flowers. He drops the Puppeteer's Bell and the Illusory Pipa Head, which starts the Illusory Pipa quest.
  • In the Crimson Forest, games.gg uses a Memory Flower as the landmark for the right-hand cave fork that leads to the Lóng Pillar. See Lóng Pillar locations.

Trophy

KeenGamer's trophy list includes Listen to Every Flower, which asks you to complete ten Memory Flowers. That is far fewer than the total, so you will earn it naturally if you pick up flowers as you go. See our trophy guide.

Collection tips

  • Flowers glow blue and are easiest to spot in darker areas; slow down in caves and interiors.
  • When you pick up a petal, open the collection card to see how many remain in that set.
  • Finish sets in one region before moving on, so you are not hunting single petals across the whole map later.
  • Prioritise flowers before tough bosses such as Bai Chilian or Lei Dang; extra health is the cheapest way to make a fight easier.
  • On 66 Days, every death costs a day, so extra health has even more value. See difficulty modes.

Other ways to get stronger

Memory Flowers handle health; your damage comes from weapon levels paid for with Remnant Dust and materials, Soul Tempering, and accessories. Read our Soul Tempering guide, best accessories and Remnant Dust guide to round out your character.
